That are no longer useful or worth pondering upon.
Let us forget and forgive
Let us start the journey with new hope

120th Anniversary of Nutcracker Ballet
The Nutcracker's 120th anniversary celebrated in Google doodle
Google has celebrated the 120th anniversary of the Nutcracker with a doodle depicting scenes from the The ballet, scored by Tchaikovsky and set around Christmas, was first performed alongside his opera Iolanta at the Mariinsky theatre in St Petersburg on 18 December 1892, but was poorly received. It was not until the 1950s, when George Balanchine re-imagined the choreography, that it became a major international hit.

Malaysia ada kebarangkalian dilanda gempa bumi
News from BERNAMA.
KUALA LUMPUR, 15 Dis (Bernama) -- Terdapat kebarangkalian Malaysia
Pengarah
Pusat Penyelidikan dan Inovasi Universiti Malaysia Sabah Prof Dr Felix
Tongkul berkata berdasarkan kajian, pihaknya mendapati Malaysia
mengalami gempa bumi sederhana.
retak.
Sementara itu, Timbalan Ketua Pengarah (Ramalan) JMM
berkata Malaysia mengalami lapan gegaran akibat 22 gempa bumi kuat di
negara jiran sepanjang tahun 2012.
Beliau berkata kedudukan
merasai gegaran gempa bumi.
"Justeru JMM telah membuat beberapa
kajian mengenai kesan gempa bumi dan hasil kajian sedang diteliti di
samping pemantauan dari semasa ke semasa bagi membolehkan kita bertindak
dengan pantas sekiranya ada kawasan yang dilanda gempa bumi," katanya.

SMS's 20th Birthday
It was
Dec. 3, 1992, and Neil Papworth, an engineer working in the UK, sent the
world's first short message service or SMS.
It read "Merry Christmas."
But while most are entering their prime at age 20, the text message might just be past its glory years.
Why are Storms Named after Women?
I have been wondering about this for very long time...
Then I found the answer in The Times Of India.
"Tropical
cyclones are named to ease communication between forecasters and the
people and to reduce confusion when two or more tropical storms occur at
the same time at different locations.
"Clement Wragge, an Australian meteorologist, is credited with initiating the use of names for cyclones. Using women's names became a practice during World War II, following the use of a woman's name for the storm in the 1941 novel, 'Storm', by lexicographer George Steward."
"The practice continued till 1978, after which the names of both men and women began to be used. The modern naming system devised by the Geneva-based World Meteorological Organi-sation uses the alphabetical order and says that the name cannot be repeated for six years. "
So there are also male names too.... They are not named after any speific reason...

Can Banana Peels Make Teeth Whiter?
I read this somewhere. Banana peels can make teeth whiter... Hhhhmmmm....
- Brush your teeth as usual with a natural toothpaste or you can use the banana peel first and then brush. Use a ripe banana as it has the most potassium content in it.
Peel from the bottom end as this is how monkeys peel their bananas and it will keep you from having all those loose threads. - Take a piece of the inside of the banana peel and gently rub around on your teeth for about 2 minutes.
The amazing minerals in the peel like potassium, magnesium and manganese absorb into your teeth and whiten them. - Repeat the same procedure at night or before bedtime, to whiten teeth.
Leaving the banana peel on longer is optional if you have stains that need to come off. - Do the banana peel routine twice daily to see teeth whiten.
Smile and share your wonderful teeth whitening secret. - You don't have to throw the old banana peels away, you can recycle them.
They make an excellent mineral compost for plants if dried out and ground up and sprinkled on the soil once a month. Your plants will love you for it!
Is it true.? I am not brave enough to try... Hihihih.... Anyone have tried? Share your experience....:P

Rolling blue waves hit the Antarctic coastline
Interesting in Yahoo News...
These brilliant blue beauties, which
look like tidal waves frozen at their highest point, were captured by French
astrophysicist (and part-time photographer) Tony Travouillon as he travelled

Happy Kartigai To All Hindus
Karthigai is on 27th November for the year 2012.
Karthigai Deepam is observed in every home and every temple in Tamil Nadu. This occurs on the day when the moon is in conjunction with the constellation
Karthigai (Pleiades) and purnima. This constellation appears as a group
of six stars in the firmament in the shape of a pendant from the ear.
Many legends and lyrical poetry have grown round this star. The six
stars are considered in Indian mythology as the six celestial nymphs who
reared the six babies in the saravana tank which later were joined
together to form the six faced Muruga. He is therefore called Karthikeya, the one brought up by the Karthigai nymphs. Houses and streets are lit up with rows of oil lamps Deepam in the evening of the festival day.
Lord Shiva appeared as an endless flame of light before Lord Vishnu and Lord Brahma,
who each considered himself supreme and said that the matter could be
tested if the two could search for Lord Shiva's Head and feet. Lord
Vishnu took the form of a boarand delved deep into the earth, Lord Brahma that of a swan and flew towards the skies. Lord Vishnu failed in his search and returned. But Lord Brahma, chancing upon a piece of Thazhambu,
a flower, learnt from it that it had been floating down for thirty
thousand years from Lord Shiva's head. He seized upon this and claimed
to Lord Shiva that he had seen the other's top. Lord Siva realized the
falsehood and pronounced that there would never be a temple for Lord
Brahma in this world. He also interdicted the use of the flower
Thazhambu in his worship. Lord Shiva appeared as a flame, this day is
called Maha Deepam.
Celebrations
Rows of Agal vilakkus (oil lit lamps) are lit in every house.Karthigai is essentially a festival of lamps. The lighted lamp is considered an auspicious symbol. It is believed to ward off evil forces and usher in prosperity and joy. While the lighted lamp is important for all Hindu rituals and festivals, it is indispensable for Karthigai. This festival is also celebrated to commemorate the bonding between brothers and sisters in south India(analogous to Bhaiya-Dhuj and Raakhi). Sisters pray for the prosperity and success of their brothers and light lamps to mark the occasion.
Celebrations at Tiruvannamalai
Karthigai festival in Tiruvannamalai hills is very famous. On Karthigai day, a huge fire lamp is lit up on the hill, visible for several kilometers around the hill. The fire (dheepam) is called Mahadeepam, Hindu devotees visit here and pray to god Shiva.

For my family, Karthigai Deepam is most waited festival of the year after Diwali..(hehehex...) Normally, we will clean up the house (actually its already clean and juz been cleaned for Diwali...hehehehex). Then we will draw a very colorful and attractive kolam at the front of the house. Then, in the evening, we will do prayers (pooja) with prasadham for God. Then, comes the exciting part, lighting up the vilakku... We will arrange more than 100 vilakku around the kolam and house... Normally we will take around 1 hour to light up all the vilakku...... The best part is, switching off the electric lights and see the glow of oil lamp in the dark... Thats awesome..and wonderful... Next, photo session, its a must... Everyone knows, Memories last forever!!
Let this Deepam Brings U Brightened and Enlightened Life Like the Light of Lamp
Wishing all my family members, realtives, friend and
hindus around the world
